Baia Mare

Hello,

I can't find this information anywhere and you guys seem to really know your stuff so maybe you can help.

We need to get from Baia Mare train station to the airport to pick up a rental car. Is there a bus that will take us there or will we nned to take a taxi? Do you have any idea of cost and frequency?

There are buses from Baia Mare to the small town/suburb Tautii Magheraus (the airport is right next to it) - but I don't think they actually get to the airport, so unless you want to walk for a part of the route, you'll have to take a taxi; a cab ride from the train station to the airport should cost around 15 lei (~€4/$5).

Im sure they would bring the car into the train station its a lot of hastle getting out to the airport.

taxis in romania are many and usually very affordable. most of them have their tariff painted onto the door, so have a look see. buses in romania, if you are new there, can be hard to figure out!

save yourself a headache and grab a cab. i found them all quite honest too, never once had an issue with cabbies - in fact, they can be amazingly helpful.
