Baguio or Boracay in February or June ?Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Philippines
Hi All, | ||
I would do both Boracay and Baguio in February. In my opinion, February has the best weather year round. It's not so humid, still warm, less chances of rain. I brought a friend home with me the last February when I visited and we had really good weather. We went to Boracay and Baguio then. | 1
I will definitely go to Boracay on February. It's off peak so you'll get better prices in everything. Plus, the beach is not crowded with students. | 2
February is def. the best weather. Cool and not to hot and sunny! | 3
June was nice this year, but that's the exception rather than the rule. I'd say go in February. | 4
I agree with # 1- we did Both baguio and boracay flying from baguio to manila , change plane and check in for boracay via Asian spirit due to time constraint, it was worth anyway. So go for both , in FEbruary, not in June | 5
The Flower Festival in Baguio usually happens in February. | 6
I will have only 7 nights, can I go for both. I forgot to mention that the Baguio trip is meant to visit Banuae and Batad for the rice fields. Will they look good in February ? | 7
If you have 7 days, you can go straight to Banaue directly from Manila. No need to go to Baguio as you will be taking the roundabout way and will be spending most of the time commuting. | 8
Thanks 77, | 9 | |
I was there last April and it was very green. Planting time is around Dec-Jan. | 10
MY trip planned for early Feb so it may not be very green since not fully grown. | 11
You could skip Puerto Galera unless you are diving. | 12
Tagaytay and that sort of quick trips from Manila I guess since you have limited days. Snorkelling is nice in Puerto Galera. | 13
Thanks #12 & #13, | 14 | |
Well if you are going to Boracay, then I guess you can skip Puerto Galera. Still if you want to see both, no one is stopping you. Yes you only need a couple hours to see Taal then on to PG. From PG, you can go to Boracay via Calapan -> Roxas-> Caticlan (by sea and land). | 15
If you are not snorkeling or diving it's probably not worth doing both. Boracay has better beaches and a friendly (less sleazy) nightlife scene. | 16
^^You are talking about Sabang and to some extent, White Beach. On the Aninuan side and that stretch, it is quiet and where the backpackers hang out. Still, I'd choose Boracay over it. | 17
How about El Nido compared to Puerto Galera ? | 18
No question El Nido. The beaches (on the islands not the town proper) in El Nido are one of the best. | 19
It's a completely different scene - hard to compare the two destinations. | 20
