Aral Sea Companions wanted for May 4/5

Country forums / Central Asia / Uzbekistan

Hi All!

My wife and I want to go to the Aral see on a jeep tour from Nukus.

We plan to do it on May 4-5.

The tour costs around 400-500 usd and the jeep can take up to 4 passengers, so we would like to find two more companions to split the expenses.

If anyoone wants to join, plese frop me a message.

Thanks,

Dmitry

Hi Bedrin!

We are also planning to do the Aral Sea trip, but a couple of days later (arrive in Tashkent around May 1, do the classic trip Samarkand - Bukhara - Khiva, and then to Aral Sea via Nukus, would be around May 8-9).

Where did you find the trip, how many days is it?

Thanks for any information

Balint

Hi Dmitry,

Could you do the trip 3-4 May (so one day earlier than you planned)?

We arrive in Tashkent on 2 May, and could fly over to Urgench that evening, arriving in Urgench at 21.10. I understand with a shared taxi it is 1,5-2 hours to Nukus, so we would be around 23.30 in Nukus. We could take the trip with you on 3-4 May.

Rgs,
Balint

Hi Dmitry,

Or even better, we would fly 2 May in the morning to Urgenech, visit Khiva on 2-3 May, and travel 3 May evening to Nukus, where we would depart 4-5 May to the Aral Sea trip. This way, we would be in for 4-5 May.

Awainting your reply.

Hi Yumi,

I'm afraid the jeep cannot take one more person - we have asked them if we can take a guide and they guy from the tour agency replied that the jeep can take only 4 persons and a driver.

thanks for your quick reply, bedrin!

could you possibly suggest some other companies that will do this tour from nukus?

you could pm me if you'd like, or on this threaad is fine -- thanks

Yumi,

The guide book also mentions Bes Qala Nukus - their site doesn't seem to work any more, but there's phone and email:
Bes Qala Nukus, 29-16 U. Yusopov ko'shesi, Nukus 742005, Karakalpakstan.
Tel: (+998 61) 224 51 69, mobile: (+998 61) 352 51 39; e-mail: bqntravel2006@rambler.ru

Also guide book recomments these guys who offer Aral tours:
Omirbay Sarsenbayev, 998945796115, omish_87@mail.ru
Oktyabr Dospanov, 2226757351, oktyabrd@gmail.com

Both should speak english

Again I don't know anything about this tour agency or these guides and cannot recomment them.
But they're listed in the Lonely Plant guide book
