Apartment hunting in JerusalemCountry forums / Middle East / Israel
Hey, Thanks in advance for the help!
Hey! Will you be at Rothberg? Cause this summer i'll be at Hebrew Uni doing a course about Middle East at the RIS! And did you do a research about the apartment's price? Is it cheaper than the Student Village? Cause i'm almost bankarropt and ill need to save the biggest amount of money i can...If it's cheaper, i definitly would share with you! | 1
Foreigners renting in East Jerusalem often pay more than they would in West Jerusalem...... I have details of a couple of options for you in the Old City if you're interested. Send me a private message if so. Personally, I think the Old City is a much cooler option because, well, many parts of East Jerusalem are not wildly exciting and are badly served by services, whereas the Old City is completely unique. And obviously you can practice your Arabic a lot. Also, if I were you I would avoid estate agents since they whack on a fee (especially if you're foreign, hence my first comment. Palestinian landlords, unfortunately, in my experience, sometimes fleece Europeans and Americans, and you end up paying even twice what you would elsewhere in the city :-( ). | 2
yes, i will be at rothberg as well and they charge over 700 USD for barely over a month in a dorm. that to me is a bit much. i would prefer to be in the city. i have lived in jerusalem before and it is a great town but i have never had to find an apartment in it before. its pretty tough trying to do it online. | 3
