Another Visa Query (Aus)

Hello

I know there have been a few queries re visas but was hoping you could assist with my 2 queries:

1. My girlfriend is an Australian citizen flying from Croatia to Damascus early August and does not have a visa. Can she arrange one at the airport as an Australian?

She also holds a croatian citizenship, so if she can not enter without a visa as an australian I have told her to arrange a new croatian passport; as she should have no problems gettign a tourist visa as a croatian national given there is no syrian embassy in croatia.

2. I am an autralian citizen currently in lebanon looking to catch a bus from beirut to dmascus. i understand I will be able to get a visa at the border for about $75 USD (having read a couple of other posts).

Any help would be appreciated!

Australians do get visa on arrival at airport and landborders for Syria costs usd 75 this has been the policy for over 3 years.Cost of visa more than doubled for last year.
The cost of visa for Croatian passport holders might be different from usd 75 but around that figure.
