Ankara to Tbilisi?

Hi guys, tossing up wether its worth the effort to get the train from Ankara to Tbilisi? or Just to fly?
Train trip has some good reports but it takes a fair bit of time
24hrs to get from Ankara to Kars and then a bus from Kars to Butumi. Then another overnight train from batumi to Tbilisi? Realistically id just start my road trip from batumi if i did this……
Plan is to hire a car and drive around at this stage

If you are time rich then the train journey is spectacular but if your time is limited then there are well priced flights from Ankara,yes,more expensive than the train but still pretty decent.

Hi,

In my point of view, if you use the train, you will make some stops on the way and visit a part of the Turkey.
If it's only for the train, you need to be a real train addict to do that. Maybe it will be better to fly.
