Animal volunteer

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Indonesia

Hi guys.

I am looking for a place I can help and volunteer with animals that are in need. Whether it's dogs cats or any other animals. I'm looking for a place on the bali island maybe something close to seminyak or changuu or even kuta.

Thanks guys!

There's an organisation called BAWA (Bali Animal Welfare Assoc) that has at least 2 branches in Ubud - one on the main street - Jalan Raya. They feed, desex, inoculate and care for hurt / ill dogs. They always need help in their shop or on the streets. If you are on Facebook, there is a page called "I love Bali street dogs" where there is further info.
These are the 3 branches in Bali.

There is also Villa Kitty in Ubud, cat rescue. Elizabeth is very happy to have people come and socialise with the cats. Contact through Facebook or website.
Just a word of caution, technically you can’t volunteer on a tourist visa, and you even under the correct social visa, sponsored by the charity, can’t receive anything in return such as meals or accommodation.

You might try these folks as they’ve been busy feeding/rescuing animals that were abandoned by the Agung evacuees: https://www.facebook.com/Sidemencentre/

It's called BAWABALI, for more information you can open this site www.bawabali.com
