Alcatraz swim August 2018

Hi,

I am planning on doing the Swim from Alcatraz to the aquatic park on either the 9th or 10th August. It is 1 1/2 miles and it is advised that because of the currents you should be at a swimming standard of being able to swim for at least 2 miles. The support boat hire is $400. It can support up to 6 swimmers. Is anyone interested in joining me to keep the cost down? I would be happy to pay $200 so just one would be enough for us to book it.

There might be swim specialised websites that could be much more fruitful wrt your question, than here.

I’ve checked the swim clubs in SF who organise such swims but they are not available on those dates 👎🏻👎🏻 I’m presuming swim clubs based in SF do it all the time as part of their club so won’t be interested in paying.
