Alaskan Railway (Anchorage to Denali)

hello there,

just wondering has anyone travelled on the alaskan railway from Anchorage to Denali. I am very keen to take this trip but it seems to be very expensive. Is it a trip of a lifetime? or could i get by using a bus or renting a car which would be much cheaper.
