Air Asia discount ticket sale....I need another!

Interest forums / Travel on a shoestring

Hi,
My last wonderful trip was caused by dropping onto the Air Asia website just when a sale started. I got Standstead Airport (UK) to Kuala Lumpur for about £370 rtn, which was lovely!

Does anybody know when they have sales, as they don't last for very long?

Cheers

If you register on their site as a member-they will E mail or text you when they have a sale.

Though they're stopping they're European route in April.

Really Toad? Why? What routes will be affected?

I agree with Lucapal, the same is true for pretty much all the airlines.

They're going to focus on Asia, it seems the Europe to KL routes weren't profitable. I think they're also reducing some of the Australian flights but they're increasing flights to India and China. The short-haul flights are not affected.

4

As Toad says..they can't make money on the European routes.

Even with the subsidised fuel they get from their government....the Gulf airlines (Qatar,Emirates etc)get their fuel practically free and so will dominate these Europe-Asia routes even more.

5

Bummer, that is a real shame. There needs to be more competition, not less. Flights are getting more and more expensive as it is, especially flying from the UK!!!

6

Well that's bad news, but glad they are still there on my arrival in Asia. Back to Gulf airlines for me.

@6. Blame APD for that. Successive UK goverments don't want peeps to visit, nor do they want residents to leave!

One of the reasons why Air Asia pulled out i'm sure.

Quatar Airways look pretty good for end of the year at £570 to Manila. Prob go with them!
Cheers all!
