Again, DON'T USE iranianvisaCountry forums / Middle East / Iran
As other posts in the thread say trying to take a authorization code to have the iranian visa with iranianvisa.com is a nightmare. They take ages to answer (if they answer), then never answer the phone calls, and when they do it, they only say: "We are still waiting for the MFA answer". It's better to go directly to the embassy and wait for the visa, it works in many embassies as the one in Istanbul for example (I don´t know for people from the states or UK), or use another agency.
Is there any good alternatives to Iranianvisa? i am not able to go to the embassy in Oslo twice, since i live so far away from oslo. | 1
I think all Visa services will only be as quick as the MFA. I used key2persia and it took about 9 weeks to get my code. But, I applied durring NoRuz, so that slowed my process down considerably. They too take a while to answer emails. But they eventually do. And all importantly I got my Visa. Getting the code, just means you dont have to stuff around with the embassy. Once I had my code, it took 2 days to have my passport back with visa. | 2
If you are this impatient in waiting 10 days to get a visa then don't go into the middle east or stan countries because things never work out as planned and having schedules don't work. It took me a month of going to the Kazhakstan embassy in Beijing just to get one stan visa... I haven't heard of anyone getting anything done with Iran visas in 10 days | 3
It is still faster than the MFA! | 4
I have been in Iran almost ten times, and in the stans (specially Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) also, so I know how difficult it is to get the visas. But I have ask codes before, or took iranian visas directly and this time is being horrible. I have used iranianvisa some times before, but some years ago it worked pretty well, last time was horrible also, it took ages, but I thought: "ok, maybe it was bad luck", but second time it happens the same with iranianvisa, and for the posts i have read I am not the only one who had problems with them. And as I told, is not the thing of how long they take, is about answering the emails, or trying to help you when you ask them, because after all, you are paying for a service. | 5
I also tried to get a code throug Iranianvisa.. But after two weeks with no confirmation mail or anything I just sent my passport directly to the embassy in Copenhagen.. I sent it 9 days ago and got it back with a visa today.. So the guy from Oslo can just sent the passport to oslo or Cph.. Would be easier.. | 6
I have to second what's been said above about iranianvisa.com Despite having paid the 'urgency fee' I'm currently waiting for them to get back to me (2 weeks and counting). They also got all my details wrong, despite my having filled out their online form, and claimed for some time not to have received my money. As a UK citizen, I have to use an agency to get an authorization code, even when arriving with a private invitation. This isnt about not having to go to the embassy. As far as alternatives go, for UK travellers FACTS Travel in Kensington arrange visa authorization codes for 50 Sterling, and the two times I've used their service, the code arrived in just 10 days. I dont have their contactdetails to hand, but google should be able to furnish those. Oh, and I also failed to get any answer when I called iranianvisa.com in Tehran. | 7
Hi @ all I'm a german passport holder and I need your help. I also have applied for an authorization code via iranianvisa.com about 6 weeks ago! About 5 weeks ago Hamid from iranianvisa.com has confirmed me that they have received my money and itinerary. Since then I'm waiting without being informed about the current status of the application process. They didn't answer on my emails until now. I have written them several times and I start getting nervous because I need the visa until mid August. What alternatives do I have? Can I still apply for the authorization code with another agency or will I get problems then because of a double application or anything else? Are there any other alternatives? Thank you very much for every reply! | 8
3.’tomsfourthattempt‘’s profile and other posts says he/she is in Iran, learning Farsi. So, I don’t understand why does he/she applied for a tourist visa. We will be glad if we receive your application receipt number so that we can follow this matter as well.

Hello IranianVisa, wow, I didn't expect that the communication through lonelyplanet forum is more efficient than through direct email contact. The Receipt Nr. you gave me is: 702259. That is the email I sent to you one week ago (to "info@iranianvisa.com"): "Dear Hamid, I just wanted to ask whether everything is ok with my visa Best regards" I would be very pleased if you could tell me about the status of my application process. I would regret it very much if could not visit Iran this summer because of not having he visa. Thank you very much! | 11
Hello natrajx , | 12 | |
I would like to comment that I have so far been relatively content with IranianVisa in the way they quickly got back to me during the application process and sent clear instructions. I was recommended the service by someone who had used it happily before. However, I have not received any replies to my recent e-mails informing about the status of the application. The 7-10 working days have now passed and I am dying to at least know something. I don't normally cry out in the open, but I'm rather impatient and losing my peace of mind, since these kind of unexpected delays are slowly making me run out of time to complete the whole process before my plane leaves. I hope it might speed things up to post here. | 13
Adding to that, I have received news now and understand that there's been a few days delay in the most recent applications. | 14
One poster asked if there are any agencieas with a better reputation. Judging by posts on the thorntree, 'key2persia' seem to have a similar record to iranianvisa.com. As I said in a previous post, FACTS Travel, although more expensive, got the number in 10 days, made no mistakes with my information, and always answered their phone and email. See http://www.factstravel.co.uk/Visas.aspx Does anyone know of any more good agencies like this? People might find this information useful now that travel season is getting into full swing... | 15
It seems that Hamid was in a serious car accident in Mashad a couple of weeks ago. I hope he's OK- he's a good guy! | 16
I recieved confirmation of my payment from Iranianvisa.com two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for my authorisation code even though I paid for express service (which promises to be half the lenght of the typical 7-10 working days). And so I am extremely worried about my application. I emailed Hamid after one week asking what the situation was, and he replied saying all applications were delayed, but my last email is so far unanswered and while I'm not so bothered that I wasted money on an express service that seems to be as slow as all the other applications, I'm really worried that I won't recieved my authorisation code in time and will have to cancel my trip, and that would be an absolute disaster. I am really hoping that iranianvisa.com will still deliver my authorisation code in time, but I am extremely concerned. Joe Stacey | 17
I am a UK cıtızen tryıng to head towards Iran. I have been waiting considerably longer than the 10 workıng days that iranianvisa suggested and am worried now that I wıll not get it in time for the start of August. Email replys have been intermitent - I hope I get one soon. If Hamid is reading this my application number is: #703097 please get in touch and let me know what is happening. simon | 18
After writing my post (number 17), later that evening I recieved an email from iranianvisa.com letting me know my visa authorisation code will be with me by early next week, and by Wendesday I had recieved the code by email. I then went to the Iranian Consulte in London on Friday, and recieved my visa with no problems at all. So my confidence was fully restored in iranianvisa.com, and now I'm very happy to have a visa and very much looking forward to my trip! | 19
salaam I have returned from this India/pak/UAE/Iran trip. It was excellent.Iran is safe and friendly, and everything works there unlike PAK. but it is not a free country at all.I didn't like Irani food. It is bland and boring. However I am used to South Indian,Thai, and Punjabi food. | 20
Have been waiting for iranianvisa.com to process my visa code since the first week of June. Have now given up. I paid an urgency fee as well. If you dont laugh, you wind up crying. So much for going back to Iran this year... | 21
My girlfriend and I (Canadian and Australian citizens respectively) put our applications through with Iranianvisa.com around the beginning of July. Whilst registering with moneybookers, the third party payment agency they specify, we received several emails urging us with somewhat threatening language to pay as soon as possible. For example, from Sarah on July 10th (we've also received some short emails from Hamid): "> Hello, Upon first try, the account they specify the payment to go to did not work. Hamid asked us to try again, upon which the money went through successfully. This was on July 12th, over two weeks ago. He has not responded thus far to the initial email requesting confirmation nor the one we sent yesterday. Hamid, if you're reading this, please let us know the status of our application as soon as possible. I'll be sure to update if we see any progress on our visa. Regards, | 22
An update on Iranianvisa.com: So today, August 21st, some six weeks after putting in my application, I received my six digit confirmation code from Iranianvisa.com. This is far longer than I would have liked for it to take. However, I should note that what may have interrupted the service is the fact that my girlfriend and I put our applications in together, but that after she had to get her passport replaced, Hamid said they had put our applications on "pending" or something similar. After we cancelled her application whilst retaining mine, after some delay, I have finally received my code, some time after I would have preferred. I will go to the Iranian embassy in New Delhi tomorrow and put it through. Hamid, and the embassy over phone, says it should take one day to process. Overall for me, I would suggest going to another agent such as key2persia, though from what I've read on this forum, all of the Iranian visa agencies are somewhat unreliable. Iranianvisa.com might have come through in the end, but only after far more hassle than I would find reasonable. It seems partly due to the volatile nature of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), partly the agency (in this case) not communicating as timely and clearly as clients desire. PS: As a side note, Hamid told me you do not need to book a return or onward flight when using this code, despite what the Iranian consular site suggests. I hope he's right! | 23
NEVER!, Don't use Iranian visa. At the moment you answer them just asking for more information, it is supposed that you accept a kind of "contract" or something similar. Then, they start to send you mails to get you money, threatening you about talk to the MFA and a lot of stupid things. If you go from Spain to IRAN, YOU DON'T NEED IRANIAN VISA. You need to get the Visa just paying the money to the bank as they tell you in the embassy. Fill the papers, get 2 photos and that is all. Important: You need an address in Iran, true address with a true telephone number. It could be a hotel that you book on internet. Best regards. | 24
actually the folks at iranian visa didn't come through with the needful in Lahore. I applied and waited 3 days and got my visa that way. The Iranian visa dot com mob were supposed to send a letter of introduction to the folks at the Lahore consulate but it did not reach , so in actual fact i was apllying directly on my own . Since many sh`ites in Pak. go to Iran on a religious visit it was not unusual to apply through Lahore. | 25
Hello, I am just super disappointed with Iranianvisa. We have paid a hell of a lot of money to get the express issuance of codes and have already been waiting for them for 10 days.... Not just this, we also send emails to them asking to explain what is going on and they are completely ignoring us.... What are we supposed to do? Our visa in Pakistan is about to expire and still we don't have any news about the Iranian one. Should we apply again through another agency? IRANIANVISA PLEASE DO SOMETHING OR YOU WEILL BE GOING TO COURT!!!!!!!!!!!! | 26
# 27 just apply in Person in Lahore at the Irani consulate. You will need 3-4 working days to wait for the visa to be issued so explore Lahore in the meantime and it will happen with the natural wheels of Asian bureaucracy not with Irani visa dot com who turned out to be bogus In my opinion. | 27

forget suing people. It could be rushed through the Asian courts in about 347 years. | 29
