After 14 years, let's try this again... has much changed?

Country forums / Africa / Tanzania

It will be 14 years between the last time I was on Safari in (Ken)Tan and the next time I plan to be there. This time I will not be alone though. The last time I took a fairly cheap private safari to Kili/Ngorongoro/Ol Doinyo Lengai and I want to do pretty much the same itinerary again with a few add ons. So I was wondering... how does this itinerary sound?

3rd week of February
Day 1 - Fly into NBO (evening)
Day 2-5 To Tanzania via Amboseli and then on to Ngorongoro, Serengeti and the Ol Doinyo climb
Day 6-7 Back to Arusha to fly to Zanzibar for a couple of nights
Day 8 - Fly out of ZNZ on the afternoon of the 8th day

Any specific things I need to worry about apart from the general safety/security concerns? Any major delays or red tape getting to the 3 Parks (Amboseli, Ngorongoro and Serengeti)? Has anything changed on the Ol Doinyo climb? The last time I did it we left around 10 PM and returned in the morning.

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks
