- ih hindsight i may not like it anymore, but at the time I thought it was wonderful to be living down on Canet Plage where there's a huge marina with some amazing boats (not that i'm any kind of sea-faring cat) but me and my friends used to wander down on moonlit nights (the moon seemed particularly large there - 'specially when it was full and red and just balancing on the horizon - like a sun with an identity crisis)... As most of the accommodation down there is in holiday apartments built in Benidorm (never bin but i should imagine is how it would be) style apartments, it's cheap as chips to rent an apartment over the winter months (and in my day, u got a quarter of the rent back for being a student) - and has a distinct feel of good times gone by - u can really sense the absence of the hordes of people that vacate to and reside there in summer... it's a good place to watch the seasons go by and watch it rise again in the heat of the summer - and to see the pyranees cascading into the sea (although that;s more Collioure) Anyway, it's about a half hour bus journey from there into town (very beautiful - lots of tiny winding spanishy streets) and then about 10 minutes i think, bus journey into uni (not that i ever often made it that far).. Résidence Cyrasuse was the name of the building i had an apartment in, and enjoyed many many candlelit dinners on the balcony in the moonlight with drunken friends. I found it through an agency (can't remember the name of which i'm afraid... in fact no help at all - but i just know, wherever you chose to live u will abolutely love perpignan!!
