Accommodations in Koh Phi Phi during Songkhran?

Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

Hi,

Could anyone let me know how difficult to get budget accommodations during the Songkhran in mid-April on Koh Phi Phi? My husband and I are not looking for anything fancy, ideally just a basic beach bungalow (we don't mind just a fan or shared bathroom). We usually don't stay in places that would require a reservation, but I am a little concerned about the timing. I stayed in one a few years back on Long Beach (maybe called "Morning" something or other?), but I am not sure if its possible to get in touch with these budget places for a reservation, or even if they still exist.

The tentative schedule is to be traveling to Phi Phi from Phuket on April 7 and heading back to Phuket on the 14th, meaning that we'll be in Phi Phi from April 7 to 14th. We are booked for our accommodations in Phuket already. If anyone knows of a way to book a basic bungalow on Long Beach (or anything else quiet...it's been a few years, so it's likely to have changed I know), please let me know:)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Phi phi Hill above Long Beach and Toh Koh Bungalows on the laid back east coast are bookable and have some of the better value bungalows on PP. I have more info on my 2 PP pages on the first link below including contact details.
PP these days is way popular and despite mid-April, I would be booking on such a big holiday.

Thanks Tezza! I've never been this time of year (and it's been a while since my last visit), so I appreciate the advice. I'll definately get to booking asap.

Also, nice work with the blog! I'm sure tons of people appreciate you putting the time and effort into it:)
