Accommodations/hotels in Aldstadt, InnsbruckCountry forums / Western Europe / Austria
Guten Tag, Entschuldigung, ich spreche Englisch. I think I already know the answer but wanted to ask if anyone knows of a hotel/B&B/hostel in the Aldstadt with availability for 28-09-2012?? I have looked online and every place is booked for that night. I have looked at the following places: -Hotel Weisses Kreuz (my top pick) Every single place is sold out for September 28, 2012. I know there are places outside of the Aldstadt but ideally would like to walk only (no buses/trams/trains). Any other recommendations that Tyrol locals can recommend? Are there places available not listed on the internet? This will be for one night only for 2 persons so we would need a double room. At this point we don't care if it is shared toilets/showers or fully private. I have even looked at airbnb to see if there is a room rental in the center of town. Danke and prost!
Pension Paula. google for it. It is not in the center of the Altstadt but in walking distance. Good place and not expensive | 1
I researched many more hotels, including Pension Paula, but it also is sold out. Actually, the majority are sold out or have only expensive rooms left (170+ euros). Is this normal for Innsbruck? I'm wondering if I should even try to stay there at this point? The only reasonable places I found vacancy for that night is: Sommerhote Karwendel, Garni Technikerhaus, Boardinhouse Sudtirolerplatz and Boardinghouse Mitterweg. All of these seem to be 15-20 minute walks to the historic city center. Any thoughts on these? Is there another town/city that is recommended -- anywhere from Innsbruck to the Swiss border as I must be in Zurich the night after. | 2

Danke. I did look at both links/websites and still no luck. In fact Hotel Altpradl has one room (triple) available for 500 euro!! Why is everything sold out? Is there a festival or something else that day? Well thank you for your replies. I'm wondering now if Innsbruck is worth it. I was looking at Landeck. Any thoughts on it? Thanks much. | 5
hello, this 500 euro is SOOO Wrong, they have an own website there is the room something like 58 euros booking.com writes 500 euros, but that is hilarious, no way a room costs that much in innsbruck. | 6
go to tripadvisor.de | 7 | |
Hello! If you want to know more about the free rooms I can recommend you to contact the local tourist office in Innsbruck - they know what's available. Here are the contact details: Best regards | 8
Thanks. I found a place to stay that is a 15-20 minute walk west of the center. Not ideal but at least I'll have a place to rest my head. I will also email office@innsbruck.info to see if they know of any openings close to the center. I have another question and will ask here and also in a separate post/thread. I was wondering which specific train stop I need to exit for my journey from Munich. Is it Mittenwald or Mittenwald bahnhoff/postamt? I will NOT be taking an ICE train but a regional train from Munich as I will have a Bayern regional ticket. I don't want to exit the German Bahn line in Mittenwald and have to go far to get to the Austrian ÖBB line that gets me to Innsbruck. From my research on the ÖBB website it looks like I can travel from Munich to Mittenwald bahnhof/postamt and then from that exact location board the ÖBB train line to get to Innsbruck. Is this correct? | 9
hi, there are direct trains from munich to innsbruck, at 7:31, 9:31 or 11.31 all am on the right side (top right) of the oebb.at website you can change to english | 10
