Accommodation in Nuwara Elya

We are going to spend two nights here and we can't decide whether to stay at the Hill Club or St Andrew's Hotel. Are both within walking distance of the town? I suppose we could have one night at each but I don't want the hassle of packing and unpacking. Any preferances? Since I am based in the Gulf I want to experience the cooler weather and the rain / drizzle.

We will be based in Hikkaduwa and plan to get there by bus - somehow! I realise that it will be a long trip but we can relax and look at the scenery!

Both are fantastic properties.I would prefer Hill Club any day.Probably coz I'm a golfer.Bus from HIkkaduwa is one long winding haul.Take a cab.More comfortable.Stop over at Kandy on the way.

I occasionally play golf but my partner doesn't. The Hill Club was my first preference but my partner's was for St Andrew's. So to keep us both happy we are going to stay one night at each. I'll tell you at the end of August which one we preferred.

We have been to Kandy twice on previous visits so we don't wish to go there again on this trip.

Taking a Sri Lankan bus and relaxing?????? You must be thinking of somewhere else!
