Accommodation in Boracay?

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Philippines

Hi there,
My husband and I are planning a short trip to Boracay
We are in our late 30's so would like to stay near one of the private beaches but close enough to bars and restaurants and massage places for when we want to relax and have some drinks. Can anyone recommend any nice accommodation for under $100 US?

If there is any other islands that maybe are a better choice - close enough to Manila, please advice.

Thanks so much

I haven't been to Boracay but Alona Beach, Bohol, would be a similar destination on a smaller scale. There are plenty of bars & restaurants along & near the beach, and beach massages are easily available. There is a large range of accommodation options there within your budget

Hello, @pmittal ! When are you coming to Boracay?

The Boracay Island is already a great choice but if you'll prefer closer to Manila, the provinces of Zambales (north) and Batangas (south) has also the beaches/islands you're looking for. Both can be reached about 3-4 hours by land. The Subic Bay beaches can also be on the choice list. Cheers!

thanks so much everyone.
We actually got a couple extra days so were thinking maybe a better option is Palawan.
I want to be able to have some drinks and descent accommodation - so not sure if i will get that in Palawan but the beaches just look amazing. Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between the 2?
Thanks again

Hello! Yes, you can have those in Palawan. You mean Boracay or Palawan? The Boracay Island really is a place for beach partying, events, and nightlife. It's one of the top choices for summer destinations in the PH. The province of Palawan is for nature adventure, island hopping, and snorkeling. I believe it has lesser tourists than Boracay and has not undergone major development yet so anyone can enjoy the natural vibe. If you want relaxation, I'll vote for Palawan. Cheers!

Yes, seriously. In terms of distance, both places (Zambales and Batangas) are closer to Manila. Boracay is not close to Manila, but it can be reached faster by plane.
