Accommodation in and around Biarritz

Country forums / Western Europe / France

Does anybody have any tips on budget accommodation in and around Biarritz? Usually stay in hostels when travelling, but can stretch to cheaper hotels if necessary. Would ideally like to stay close to the beach. Thanks

The HI hostels are the best and only budget option apart from camping

During our Eurotrip we stayed in Biarritz at hotel Palym at the pedestrian street near the beach for 50EUR+breakfast 5EUR per person.

The price was for double room

Regarding the Biarritz area- I'd suggest a small town inland a bit & away from he ocean & its prices-
one suggestion Ascain- a lovely small Basque town, very nice.

I'm ging to check my MicroSoft auto-route progream & will add morre tonite or tomorrow.

Close to Biarritz is St. Pée (a little inland, like 15 mins) it has some hotels there, we found a hotelroom there for €40 in August!

Hello again. Bayonne is no more than 22-23 kms from Biarritz. It is a nice full-sized town & I'm sure you can find the full range of prices & accommodations. Ditto for Bidart which is on the coast road & no doubt more expensive.
Good luck ^ have a great trip.

#6 Bayonne is right beside Biarritz -- it's part of the same urban area: BAB (Bayonne/Anglet/Biarritz).
