Accommodation for 20 people?

Hi,

Does anybody have any ideas where a group of 20 people can stay in Amsterdam for the weekend 18th 19th and 20th of Feb.

We are a mixed group of good friends who are celebrating about 5 birthdays in the group. I think the ideal would be a small hostel that we can book in it's entirety with a mix of doubles and larger dorm type rooms. The cheaper the better really.

A kitchen would be really nice but is not essential. If a hostel is not possible a few apartments in the same block or very close together.

Any suggestions welcome or leads to good places to look

As long as you let them know in advance, they'll cater for you.
It's a great hostel with secure lockers and it's right in the Red Light.
Beware though.... If you just turn up without booking, they have spaces for all of you - and you offer to pay with plastic to settle your bill, they charge you an extra 10%. There is a cashpoint just across the canal, about a 5 minute walk, where you can get your €uros.
I've stayed there a couple of times and it's OK.

I tried to book a very similar trip for 9 and had awful trouble with hostels not wanting to take a group of men (we have 5) or needing loads of security deposits, preauthorising a credit card for the whole transaction and leaving passports. I assume they've had problems before. So wherever you book, make sure you read the terms and conditions.

Our group booked into the Westertoren Hotel. It's not fancy, but we were able to book a number of doubles, triples, quads......good luck!
