Stealthy

Sounds like this guy made the whole article up, there's no solid information and no link to the so-called whitepaper.. why a hacker group would release a whitepaper anyway is beyond me! This guy obviously has some beef with the iPhone as the whole site seems to be dedicated to trashing the product;

His only other articles on the site :-
iPhone is not a best iPod ever
10+ iPhone gotchas
Ooops, first iPhone vulnerability is discovered!
Things which made the iPhone not so hot as it seem...
* 5 Technical drawbacks

On the hackers web-hack site (translated from Russian to English) there is no mention anywhere about the supposed research and find...

I think it bogus, misinformation - I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Probably FUD, but I wouldn't be too surprised if there turned out to be some truth in it. DRM usually has some sort of phone home stuff in it, and the iPhone is DRM'd up to the hilt.

2

It doesn't look like the most credible article, but it's possible. The USA is not known for its respect of digital communications privacy.

More about what Lan mentioned can be found here. Good reason to avoid the iPhone...

If they did really find something, I would have expected to see a full demo and report > like this which shows how data can be stolen from the iPhone using malicious code on a web page. Now that's concerning! ; )

Only if they're whitehat hackers. If they're blackhats, they'll be selling the vuln to the highest bidder...
