3 Months in Dublin

Country forums / UK & Ireland / Ireland

I'm going abroad for an internship from January to March, which means it's time to consider places to stay. Any ideas for hostels, homesharings, etc. that would be willing to take on a single female as a mid-length boarder? I've worked as a nanny and housecleaner before so I could definitely make myself useful at a hostel or somewhere. Only problem is I'll be working at an internship, so I can't afford to be a fully live-in nanny or babysitter.
Thanks for any thoughts!

Times are pretty tough job wise in Ireland so I am not sure about the nanny/house cleaner part time option. You could try something like gumtree.com for accom and also talk to the place you are going to work as they have probably dealt with this before.

My sister did something similar a few years ago and just put an ad on gumtree. About 10 people got back to her, but the economy is much worse now so you might get more offers. We then spent a while emailing the people and checking them (and the location) out. Some people just want someone to help out with bills for a few months instead of a long term flat mate. To be honest there were a few odd ones out there so be careful... Saying that my sister made a whole new group of friends through the experience and got a lovely place to stay too.

Nice to hear from someone who's done something like this before! I've looked through Gumtree before, and no luck on locating what I wanted. I'll try an ad though, thank you for the tip.
