2 or 3 days birdwatching/nature excursions Danube Delta

Hi, I am looking for a reliable tour operator for a 2/3 day excursion out of Tulcea into the Danube Delta. A floating hotel of guesthouse in a tradional village is fine. Looking at finess tours and escape travel tours as options. Any suggestions, comments, recommendations, birding guides?

Hi, I would reccomend you Dunarea Veche ( Old Danube) guesthouse. Visit this site www.dunareaveche.ro and use Google translate. Here they provide all services you need, boat transfer to/from Tulcea, accommodation, meals and boat trips.

It is situated in the middle of the Danube Delta in Mila 23, a small fishermen village and from there you can go on boat trips to many destinations in the delta.

Usually you go to a village inside the Delta and from there you rent fisherman's "taxi", their boats called "lotca". They are many offers since they need income more then can come from fishing. Be careful when choose, not all are polite and most of them will run around at high speed with motor boat. Also ask for the price before going, be careful, sometimes they told you the price per hour.
About tour operators: sometimes they ask much more then the fishermens, ask around for prices in the village first.
About map: Even living in Roumania I found very difficult a good map. Maybe print from Google Earth the area you want to visit.
