2 nights in Osaka - where to stay, what to do?

Hi there

I will be spending 2 nights in Osaka on my way through Japan to NZ in April. I've been to Japan before, but not to Osaka, so I'd like to see the sights and soak it up as much as possible in that short time. Any advice on where to stay or what to do much appreciated!
