10 days in UZB

Hi everybody!

We have 10 days in Uzbekistan, just bought the light ticket, and need an itinary for the VISA.

Two questions:

If doing the classic trip (Tashkent - Samarkand - Bukhara - Khiva), what would be the advised stay in these cities, I understand Tashkent is not so exciting, but how would you split the days between the other 3 cities?

What is better, first flying to Urgenech and then came back by bus/train to Tahskent, or do the trip to Khiva, and on the last day fly back to Tashkent.

Any other tips welcomed!

Plane, shared taxi (or contracted) and (night) train are the main way of travel. Try to avoid bus, not minibus (marshrutka)
You can fly to Urgench and coming back, step by step, to Tashkent or move West from the capital city and coming back at the end.
With a such limited time, it will be better to leave Tashkent as soon as possible and keep it for the end, if you have enough time.
Try to read a guidebook to have your own itinerary and choose the places by yourself.
My points of interests are not yours...

With limited time, you should probably look at spending something like 2 days in Tashkent and Khiva, and 3 each in Bukhara and Samarkand. Though you will also spend some time traveling from city to city. I would recommend flying first to Urgench, and then making your way back. That gives you more flexibility to get back to Tashkent when you want (wherever you are in Uzbekistan, it will be fairly easy to get to Tashkent).

As indicated by Glora it's not a problem to reach Tashkent. Plenty of transports are waiting passengers for the capital city.
Night train could be a good way of travel. You are sleeping (well) and move during the same time.

Hi I guess many will hate me for that but I suggest to spend more time in khiva and bukhara, and less in samarkand, which can be somehow disappointing....but as michel wrote, my interests are not yours....

Agree with valul about Samarkand.
