Another question about accommodation in Poland. We don't like driving in big cities and prefer to find a small town nearby where we can leave our car. Then we travel by public transport into the city. This is much less stressful when you don't know where you are going.
Question??? Which town would be best to stay at near Warsaw.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a Car Rental company/agency in Poland. I probably won't rent one in Warsaw, but I may very well do so in Lublin and/or Lodz to reach some of the smaller, outerlying communities near Ukraine and Belarus. Anything to be on the look-out for? Any driving maps that anyone recommends?
I have only one day in Krakow next month, hoping to visit Auschwitz and the salt mines. But I have a very early flight out of Warsaw the next morning so must either take 21:05 flight or 20:40 train. Is it possible to visit both places and make the onward connection? I have been to salt mines in Pakistan and Colombia before.
Have used this forum many times before and have found the advice very helpful. Next year, my husband and I are intending to drive across Poland to Latvia and Lithuania. Our preference is not to book accommodation beforehand as you never know how long you want to stay at a place until you arrive. You also come across interesting places as you drive around.
This would be happening at the end of April through May. It is early in the tourist season and in our many European travels, we had no…
Hi Polska people
We're planning a crazy canotrip in Poland during mid may & fishing meanwhile.
About fishing, can we get a permit very easy & where can we get this. We will first day arrive in Warchau so I suppose the best option to get the fishing licence will be there. Do you need special licence for different area's? I remember is some countries it's like that so I wonder. I did check on the website of Polski Swiazek Wedkarski but when I click for the foreigners and non-members of…
Hi, would appreciate any advice on a trip I am planning. Any tips or hostels you can recommend.
Fly into Berlin on Friday 25/9. I'm doing the Marathon on the Sunday. Would like to leave Berlin on Tuesday to head to Poland. I don't mind how i travel, air or train. I know air is quicker but I don't mind train, it gives me a good look at the country.
I am planning a trip in early May. I will be in Berlin and want to go overland to Warsaw, then to Vilnius. I want to go by train outbound, return by bus. My question, since I don't have a smart phone and don't have exact travel dates, can I go to the station to buy my ticket the day before travel? Will there be a risk of 2nd class being booked out? Does it cost a lot more to wait until the day before? Can I pay with credit card or do I need cash (Euros or zlotys)? Do i need to buy 2 separate…
