We plan to hire a car and drive around in northernd ireland in july. I found this great 5 day itinerary (http://www.ireland.com/en-ca/what-is-available/touring-holidays/car-touring/articles/5-day-northern-ireland-driving-itinerary) which covers most of the stuff we want to do in 5 days. (Belfast-Ballycastle-Londonderry-Enniskillen-Portaferry-Belfast). However, we have two or three more days to spend and I am looking for any suggestions.
- We planned to fly in and out of Belfast…
Obviously I don't have time to see everything, so I would love some opinions here.
I'm deciding between:
I'm leaning towards Belfast because I'm interested in the political history, but on the other side of things - I'm really keen to see some 'unique' Irish landscapes.
I understand this is…
It seems there are lots of resources to finding bluebells in the UK, but there's not too much on locating bluebell woods in Ireland and whether they are in bloom. I only see individual websites/blogs saying they found one here or there or in a garden. Does anyone know of any website that has that kind of information? We are visiting Ireland next week and driving from Dublin to Cork via Co. Wicklow, then on to the Ring of Kerry and Galway. Is anyone familiar with those areas or…
I went on one of Paddywagon tours the week before last. Previously, I had heard that Paddywagon staff fill out their own appraisals on websites and I have no hesitation in believing it. 'Award-winning'? Whoever is responsible for that needs their head examined.
I did the tour with some German friends. Maybe the 'guide' was just unlucky in that an Irish person was actually on the bus.
Almost everything this guy told us was factually incorrect. I'll spare you the details but PM me if you really…
I have 5 days to play before my week conference and would love to team up with another for some great outdoor adventure and exercise. An ideal partner would be someone who's already outdoorsy, in shape and loves to hike/camp/ explore beautiful places.
Any ideas, any questions, suggestions....please share. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
My friend and I will be walking the Kerry Way beginning of July. Not sure if we will need to book accommodations ahead of time or not. There is a mix of hostels and B&Bs. Anyone have any suggestions through experience or other forums I might find to ask?
Keep a smile,
I'll be in Ireland for nearly a full month (June 20th at the latest - July 28th) and I plan on traveling across the country. I'll start in Dublin, go to Wicklow, then perhaps rent a car and drive to Waterford. I'd like to see Cork and Limerick, unsure about Kerry. Then go on to Clare and Galway. After that I'm sure most of my month will be gone. I'd like to take my time, drive where it will be least difficult (first time driving on the opposite side of the road!) and see rural Ireland. I'd like…
Any place worth seeing is best seen by foot. For anyone interested in following their own footsteps around Dublin, here are a few self-guided routes that you can follow in some of the most interesting neighborhoods. After various trips to Dublin, I've written up where you can best run/walk past lots of the best sights in town, with pictures and maps included.
