35-40 days in India: Itinireray advice

Hi guys,

I'm travelling with my girlfriend in S-E Asia next year.

We have a 35-40 days window in India and we are reviewing our options.

We're over there in February. This is an aproximate itinerary:

(KERALA : 5-7 days)
Mumbai : 4-5 days
Udaipur - Johdpur - Pushkar : 10 days
Jalsaimer - 4 days
Jaipur : 4 days
New Delhi (Agra): 4-5 days
Varanasi : 5 days

Our questions:

-Should we remove/add cities? Is it too much? I know travel in India is tedious and we don't want to overdo it...
-Are we…

Animal Activities During the Monsoon

Okay! So I've come up with a route from Nepal to India, planned all the trains, hostels, and most of the activities. However I'm a real lover of nature and animals, but the eco-tourism out there seems to be saturated with elephant and tiger tours/activities!

Of course I'd love to see/interact with elephants and tigers, but are there any other highlights in terms of day (or weekender) activities outside of the traditional "elephant ride" / "tiger safari" usual?! Anything would be of interest -…

July-August family travels in India... where?

It looks like my wife and three kids aged 5 9 10 will flee New Zealand for a month starting mid-July (we are US citizens). We have a hazy dream of India. It's a big place, but can anyone give me some suggestions on where to start some research on planning our trip. Our kids have traveled heaps and are adventurous, but they are still kids. I envision staying a week or so in 4 different places. The kids love the beach. Mom and dad love trekking. Dad loves exotic nature. Mom is Italian and…

Rajasthan Itinerary Review

Hello all,

This is the Itinerary I have put together for my boyfriend and I (late 20's). I have a feeling you will say it is too much but I don't see where to cut. We don't feel like we need to see everything at each stop, just a couple of the highlights and try to soak up the atmosphere. I have two weeks before and after his departure but at a much slower pace. We are pretty settled on the destinations and don't want to switch anything, just wondering if we have to omit something or…

India at the end of April

My friend and I are planning to spend around a week in India at the end of April. I know it's hot and humid at this time, so I'm wondering if anyone has any idea of comfortable places to go? And how many places should we visit for 7~10 days? Should we take train or taxi (will that be very expensive?) And I don't want to fly between places that are too far...

I've read some posts about staying high round the mountains etc, but I think we can finish that in less than one week?

Any recommendation…
