Is this ok? We need to wheel our bike on train from Koblenz to Frankfurt on Sunday, and then after staying near the train station in Frankfurt, wheel them on again for a train to the Frankfurt airport Monday morning. We have got bike bags but have found them awkward and heavy so would be easier for us just to take our bikes on as a whole and pull them apart at the airport.
One of us apparently need to get to Terminal 1 to buy 2 bike boxes at e30 each then hubby will need to pack bikes into bags…

I should have mentioned this yesterday because they've been at it for 24 hours or so now, but whatever:

German train drivers are on strike (yet again - 9th time in 10 months!) and this time it's "until further notice" - i.e. no end date has been set for the strike. 48 hours notice will be given when they finally decide to bother going back to work - I will post that info if/when I see it.

For information which trains are running (because a limited amount of them still are), refer to http://ww

I was very young when I left Berlin and have decided to look up some of the areas I may remember. Such as the schools I went to, where I lived etc. Maybe where my grandmother lived in East Berlin.

But just using Google Earth the city does not look like I remember it, with ruins everywhere.

I have booked myself into the hotel California on Kurfuerstendamm, pretty central I think.

So with the limited time I have what should I be looking at as far as attractions?

Suggestions please.

BTW: When…

Hello, I am traveling to Berlin next month and was planning on going onto Warsaw. Have read several sites online, does anyone know the official website to book and see schedules of train schedule and prices? Does one need to book this in advance or is it ok to buy same day?

thanks

Hello everyone

My turn to ask for help for Berlin... Whilst I know it for a tourism point of view, I'm off end of July Fri evening until Monday evening for a stag do. Flights and accom in Mitte are sorted, we just need to organise the rest of it and the best men are doing a poor job.

I instantly thought of getting us sorted for a visit to the Reichstag for some culture and possibly a spin round the GDR or Stasi Museum - maybe Brandenberg gate and/or the Jewish memorial. I know there's so…

Hello All.
This November I will be in Hamburg a Friday - Tuesday. Bit longer than I had planned, but airline schedules intervened.
Can anyone recommend worthwhile day trips from Hamburg? Preferably by train / bus or even rental car, if it's a good idea.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all!

New here, heading to Cologne at the end of May with my boyfriend. Just wondering if anyone has ever been there and what are the safest places to be while there, as I am quite concerned about what the area is like that my hotel is located. Its right at the musical dome.

Need some new advice on Cologne besides what the usual travel guide tells me. Like I will go to all the museums and the cathedral but what stuff is unusual and fun to do there?

Thanks all, hope I wrote this topic ok…

I have 2 weeks in Germany in August. I may use some of that time to spend ~3 days in Copenhagen, Paris, or Prague. (Been to Paris before but only 3 days) I'm mostly interested in architecture, history/museums, and scenery. I will be taking trains to get around.

Right now I want to go to Berlin, Munich, and the 2 Mad King Ludwig castles. Any must-sees in those places? And any other must-sees in Germany besides those places? I haven't had time to read up a lot on Germany yet. Say I have 5 days in…

Hi all,

I will be spending some time in the south of Germany (and in Salzburg) during the end of June and was hoping for some suggestions about my itinerary-how best to utilize the days from June 23-June 27. Apart from sightseeing in Munich itself (2 full days-June 26 and 27), I would like to spend some time taking in the natural scenery- Konigsee, the Alps, visit Neuschwanstein castle while spending those one/two nights in a small town/village (not too touristy, but not terribly remote because…
