Hey...
So I'm gonna be in Manali around June 9 and want to do around a three day trek, probably Manali to Lahaul. I have no gear and am a complete novice. So I have a couple of questions, and any help would be much appreciated:
1) Is this an advisable trek for novice (I'm a 29 yr old male and in good shape)?
2) Can you recommend a trekking company that will organize excursion? What can they provide?
3) Is a jacket necessary during this time, or will 3 layers consisting of a thin cotton…
2004 marks the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of K-2 by Italians in 1954.
K-2 is the second highest mountain at 8611m and the greatest challange
the climbers.
K-2 is situated in the Karakoram mountain range which is situated between the
Himalayas and the Pamirs.
The trek to K-2 base camp is the most spectacular mountain trek in the world
with fantastic views of great mountains. Concordia at the confluence of
Godwin Austin glacier and Baltoro glacier is the most spectacular part of this
trek where…
Hi, Does anybody have one of these? It sticks onto the peak held by magnets thru the material. Do they work? I'm tired of not being able to sleep due to a hot sticky tent. It's $20 but if even if it helped A LITTLE BIT I would pay 10 fold!
Thanks.
I'm in London right now and making a decision to go or not to go the North Downs Way. Has anyone done the North Downs Way who can suggest a few hostels or cheap accommodation (ie. 25 GBP or less) for me to check out? I know there are small villages here and there but every hotel listing I can find on the North Downs Way starts at prices out of my budget (40 and up). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi.
I'm looking for experienced alpine climber(s) to join me for a moderate routes in the Cordillera Real- probably in the Condoriri group. I'm currently in La Paz, am off to Peru but will be back for (hopefully) some climbing action in late June- early July.
Anyone interested? Or even some rock-climbing around the same time?

Does anyone on this branch know of tour companies that incorporate the 2-day Inca Trail trek within their tours versus the full 3-4 day version? I'm looking at GAP Adventure Tours because I know their tours to Peru are good, but their tours all do the full version. (I want to see Peru with a group tour and not by myself independently.)
Thanks

Hi, am looking to organise a trekking trip but am thinking of going with a company due to lack of equipment and because my friends are all tied up with proper jobs! Can anyone recommend a good company to go with which will not involve trekking with all couples or families and which will be single female friendly! Am quite experienced as have done loads of trekking in Africa but have limited equipment and very limited cash. am interested in eco-tourism companies but am wary as have heared that…
hello,
i have a trip planned to nepal in sept-oct of 2004. i am looking to do a trek around Manaslu ( Dolpo and Mustang are also options). i will be traveling alone as a female. these particular treks, i believe, must be done with a fully organized tour.
has anyone done one of these tours and if so, did they need the organized tour? did you organize it prior to arrival or on arrival to Nepal. i'm not much of an "organized" tour type of person but the remote aspects of these areas are appealing…
