Hi,
we are planning to go climbing Kili these Christmas holiday. Is it rainy on December in Tanzania? Has anybody climb Shira Route recently? is it worth the extra expenses and days?

I plan to go to Tierra Del Fuego in December for a month of solitary trekking. Basically, I want to be alone in the wild nature. I do possess the LP Trekking in the Patagonian Andes, but wonder whether there are any good and long trekks apart of those described in the book. Is it possible to trek around Peninsula del Mitre or around Lago Lynch and Lago Blanco? What is it like?
What is the story of reaching Puerto Williams from Ushuaia nowadays? How much does it cost?
And, which part of TDF would…
Hi - I want to go trekking and camping in the Pyrenees later in the year and was hoping to have a partner to go with me as it is much more fun.
Supposing I go on my own and stick to a fairly popular route (high altitude hopefully) am I likely to meet other singles out there? I am not talking about large tour groups of Germans! Just like minded people who enjoy peak bagging and camping!
I will be going in early October.
We are going to be in Tuscany and are looking for 2-3 day woodsy hike where we can reach a place to stay (not camp) each night. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I'm heading to Euador on 6/29 and will be reaching Peru around mid july and Bolivia about mid august. Would love to me up with experienced trekers and do a guided climb/trek. As I see it the more people the more fun and cheaper. I'm also interested in doing climbs/treks without a guide if your route finding/navigational skills are good. I have all the gear I need. thanks a million, Martina
Hail all,
I would like to do the short trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp on my way to Skardu.
Has anyone done this hike?
About how much does the jeep ride from the bridge to the trailhead cost?
Can I count on a jeep being there when I arrive without a reservation?
The LP says that there are two inns at Beyal that serve food and have beds. Is this correct? And if there is food and shelter, there’s no need to hire porters, right?
Is it practical to catch an early morning van from Chilas to the bridge…
Hi everyone
I was just wondering if anyone here has walked the Camino de Santiago pilgrims road from le Puy in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I would really like to do this walk but the only time in the near future that I will probably be able to do this is next January and February and I know that it will be winter then. Has anyone ever walked it during winter and if so, how difficult is it? I am not so much worried about the cold as if I dress warmly and have a good sleeping bag…
Hi there,
Two of us are doing the Zanskar Valley Trek in Ladakh in September. We are planning on doing this ourselves without porters which means we need to carry our own food, tent, equipment etc. Has anyone done this trek? Any information / advice would be welcome, in particular in relation to:
1. Transport to Padum where the trek commences (how do we get there? How much does it cost etc? Any advice?)
2. Particular things to bring on the trek (what can be bought before the trek? What can be…
Hi,
I’m looking to do a trek in Ladakh in September and I was wondering if anyone could give me some details of a good organisation that arranges treks, either for the independent traveller or for small groups, from Leh (not Delhi). I’m not sure whether to do it alone, or find an organised tour/ company to trek with. I’m interested in doing quite a long (3 weeks) trek and away from the beaten track, and wouldn’t want to trek with more than a couple of people. Any recommendations (or links to…
