For you mountain climbers out there, a question. I would like to do my first technical climb to a peak either in the Cordillera blanca of Peru or else in the Bolivian Andes. What would you recommend as a peak that is 1) technically easy and won't pose too many risks for anybody involved, 2) beautiful views from the top, and 3) not too costly. Are Huarascan or Huayna Potosi reasonable at all, when done…

Folks...

Anyone every been up Pico Del Teide in Isla De Tenerife? I've been coerced into a sun holiday that I'm not over the moon about and I thought a good 4000 metre climb might clear the head. Any tips? Sites I should visit? Interesting off the beaten track routes?

I want to trek into the Taman Negara National Park, in Malaysia, from the NORTH EAST side (Terengganu).

This is a part of the park that is rarely visited and is, i understand, one of the most pristne areas of rainforest in the world. Plus its a challenge!

I've read you can access caves in the NE of the park from Tasik Kenyir (?) but no info around about going into the park further on that side, through to the main trekking areas.

ANY advice greatly appreciated! thanks

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has used East Africa Shuttles to climb Mount Kilimanjaro? I'm about to book with them (Cost: US$765) and just wondering if they are good guides? Does the above price seem reasonable (includes park fees and accomodation in hotel but excludes renting of equipment and tipping of guides/porters).

I plan to climb using the Machame route - I was advised that a 7-day trek is more achievable than a 6-day one with a better chance of success.....though I really only have…
