Hi all. Has anyone walked both South Coast Track in Tasmania and Southern Circuit in Stewart Island New Zealand? If so, can you give me any comparison on difficulty, fitness required, what you are likely to see? I have walked the South Coast Track and am keen to see kiwi & aurora australis. Any feedback gratefully received.

Hello to all,
We're going to the Pyreees in about two weeks, and would be happy to get recommendations for day-hikes in the Aiguestortes (camping outside of the NP).

Thanks, Lee&Oded

Hi All,

I'm planning an ascent to Ojos del Salado in the season to come, preferably in December-January and from Argentina. Anyone planning the same?

I've recently done Illimani in Bolivia and I'm currently living in Arequipa, Peru.

Hello,

I am planing a short trek (3-days) in Morocco to Mount Toubkal (Jbel Toubkal) in the High Atlas at the end of August. I am a 32 year old female from The Netherlands and looking for someone who is fun and fit enough to walk up to the 4167m high summit of Mount Toubkal. I have some trekking experience in the Alpes and the Himalaya (up to 5400m) and used to carry my own backpack. At the moment I am looking for a mountain guide to guide me to the top of Jbel Toubka. To share the costs of the…

I am planning a week’s hiking in the French Maritime Alps, and would love to start somewhere in the Reserve Chasse de Mercantour (perhaps Saint Etienne de Tinee?) and head south towards the coast for a restful end of trip in one of the (quieter) coastal towns.

Would appreciate any route ideas people have, and experiences from people who have done a similar trip. We’re going at the end of September.

Thanks

Lucy

Hey folks,

Does anyone have good advice for a first splash into cross-country/distance walking (in Europe and/or North America) and how to find groups? I've found that there aren't as many strong web resources in this area as I would have liked; although I have discovered all the 'E' trails through Europe.

I'm looking to find a group planning on a long-distance walk (over a couple/few days), but I'm finding this difficult. As a newbie to this sort of thing the advice 'DON'T TRY THIS ALONE'…

I’m planning on doing the Lukla – Gokyo – Cho la – EBC – Lulka trek in early December.
As of now my plan is to travel with a hired porter-guide.

If any other independent traveller/small group is in the region around the same dates, I would’t mind:
- either trekking together to split porter cost
- or be on the same route but travel individually and at least have a few people to hang out with in the evenings at the tea houses

If anyone intends on doing the same route around early december, feel…
