Hi all
I am planning a trek through the Cordillera Blanca next May 2012 around the second week between 12 and 30 of may, the idea is to make the Cordillera Huayhuash, or Santa Cruz trek, these two circuits are incredible, especially Huayhuash, which is more demanding physically . the idea is to rent a mule or horse to carry food, fuel and part of our luggage.
A little about me. i am 34, I love the mountains and nature and I speak Spanish, so if anyone is interested in having an incredible experience and enjoy the culture of South America, write me if you are interested.

Cheers

Victor

I would choose Huayhuash in a heart beat. It is incredible and far less busy than Santa Cruz. I did the trek at age 52 and had little problem. I have done the Annapurna Circuit trek in Nepal and the Makha Valley Trek in Ladakh and the Huayhuash was right up there in quality.

Hi Victor,
I was getting in touch serveral weeks ago with another german guy (43 yo) who wants to go to Peru again in 2013 and is searching via Internet a travel and trekking companion. Our plan is to make the Huayhuash trek or Santa Cruz, organized by a local trekking agency with mules, muleteers and a guide who will serve us as a cook. The price per person for this trek is 42 Euro per day. Huayhuash will take about 11 days. But it's not sure if we do it. But if you want to join us next near, it'll be more fun. Speaking (german) English all day won't be a problem. This May 2012 it's not possible.
I'm 42 yo and I can speak some spanish, too. I've done two treks in Nepal so far - Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp. So I'm quite curious to discover the Andes.
Greeting
Michael
