Dear all

I have a vacation in November and trying to choose a trekking destination.

Are there any treks in Indian Himalayas or Ladakh which are open and doable at this time of the year? What region in India would be better?

If India is not an option, trekking in which counrties would be possible in South America?

Thank you!

Ladakh will be too cold, passes closed by snow. You can either head towards Himachal Pradesh (Garwal, Nanda Devi area) or Sikkim. Plenty of treks opportunities, November is probably the best season there.

In Ladakh it is very cold already in November, it's not a good time to go trekking there. Many roads and passes are closed due to snow, so you'll have difficulties getting in and around.

If you want to go trekking in November, you could go to Nepal, which offers a wide range of beautiful treks that are doable in winter. Bhutan would also be an option, although an expensive one. If you insist on going to India, the North-East would be better, as it is much warmer there.

For HP, not true, too late in the season. In Uttarakhand, some treks remain possible in early November like Pindari Glacier but end of season also. In Darjeeling and Southern Sikkim it is possible.
