Have recently decided that I quite like trekking! I´m pretty much a beginner, the harderst trek I´ve done is the Inca trail!

Just wondering if you have suggestions for easy to moderate treks in Northern Argentina or Chile (saving Patagonia etc for another trip).

Thanks

Bariloche in Argentina is a great base from which to do a number of treks. The local mountaineering club (think it's Club Andos Bariloche or something like that) has all the info you need when you get there. It's really easy to get to trailheads too as local buses run all day in the summer. I spent about a week in Bariloche and did a number of day treks. That was enough for me because I'd already been to Aconcagua and Torres del Paine on the same trip and wanted to take it easy, but you can lengthen or shorten treks according to how many days you want to do at a time.
