Looking for partner/s to experience Sikkim and the Dzongri Trek for 5 days (most groups continue on to Goecha La), departing Yuksom on either October 28th/29th. Been dealing with local trek agency. Better rates than if arranged from outside India. Give me a shout if you are interested!

I'm writing not to join but because I've just come back from doing that trek (staying at Sachen and Tshokha on the way up and Sachen on the way down) except that we decided to cut the trip short at Pethang (3550m) rather than go all the way to Dzongri (4000+). It is very beautiful, especially up at Pethang and above.
Tshokha to Pethang is only half a day's hiking but our concern was altitude sickness, as Tshokha to Dzongri is more than 1000m gain in a day. We later heard that a guy died this week from altitude sickness around Dzongri after coming up from Tshokha, so felt we'd made the right decision though of course many others went up and were fine.
I guess you could do Yoksam-Tshokha-Pethang-Dzongri-Tshokha-Yoksam and not stay at Sachen - I think that's what I'd recommend.
