I am going to Oaxaca in July and August to learn Spanish. I also want to rock climb while I am there. I am an experienced climber. I had one response to an earlier posting that explained how to get to the climbing area. The response also mentioned that many of the climbs were harder than the published grades. Is there a guidebook I can get? Is it hard to find partners in Oaxaca? Is there a website that I can go to?
Any help here would be appreciated.

Have you tried ask this question on rockclimbing.com? Thorn Tree is mostly a traveler's forum, it's not likely that a lot of rock climbers frequent this site. You may have better luck on a climber's forum.

There are a couple of outdoor/adventure guide services in Oaxaca City, so you should be able to get good info from them once you arrive. In particular I went climbing with a woman named Gloria - can't remember the name of her business or where it was located, but since I was only in Oaxaca for a week and I found her on the first day, she must have been close to the Zocalo. She had very reasonably priced climbing deals and would be a good resource even if you don't want to pay for a guide (she ended up finding me a biologist to go bird banding with, just because I mentioned that I liked doing stuff like that).
