Hi everybody. I need some help of you guys: a group of 9 geologists asked me a fee to take care of security, first aid, rappelling, climb, etc. on a prospecting job in the Cordillera de Los Andes in central Chile. I speak Chileno and english.... the question is... How much money would cost a day's work?.
Thanks in advance

No answers, so I try to think about it...
Security, does that mean just climbing security or security against robbery, kidnapping etc?
If you are providing just expertise for climbing you could start from the average daily pay for a policeman/fireman in your country and double that to begin with. Then are the gear expenses if you need to provide those, and of course all travel expenses. Remember to charge also for preparation time. This is the view from a fair local perspective.
If you look at this from the other end: how much could you possibly milk from them? In the security business in Iraq for example the daily charge was around $1000/day per person, minimum. Of course the security situation was different, too. If you think about American (if the customers are American, you do not say) work rates $400/day should not be too much to pay a local fixer/security man. They might just pay it and think it cheap, or laugh at you knowing the average salaries you have in Chile.
Tough choice. Be prepared to negotiate.
