Hello all,
Am off to the Pyrennes this september and wondering wether to fly into Barcelona or Girona? Obviously Girona is cheaper, but do you have to travel to Barcelona before you can find a decent route into the mountains? If so is it worth the hassle travelling to Barcelona First??!

Also we are keen to take in as much of the Pyrenees as possible but without being too full on as don't want to spend more than a couple of days at a time camping out and would like to share time between camping/refuges/hostels. Were thinking of travelling West by bus train straight away as far as Jaca maybe and making our way back to Barcelona through the mountains via Andorra. Does this sound like a good plan?? Or does anyone have any good suggestions as we are open to anything! Any info would be very much appreciated!!

Thank you!!

Girona is about 1.5hr and 5 EUR by train from BCN so it's completely up to you where you wanna fly. Of course BCN has more connections by bus / train w/ mountains. Look at LP Walking in Spain for the Pyrenean Traverse trek to have an idea about options.

Cheers,
Honza
