Hi everyone! hope you can help me here... I´m thinking of doing the Helambu or Langtang trek soon (maybe both). I´m on budget diet trying to reduce expenses, and I have the option of having a guide for a lower price rather than an all-inclusive package, but no food or accomodation included. How much am I expected to pay for a room, say in homestays or teashops along the way (the cheapest)? also, what´s the cost of food? I´m looking at very simple dhal bhat for main meals, a breakfast, a couple of milk teas along the way. Would be great if you could help me here. Thanks!

The cost is about Nrs. 1500.00 per day per person basis the minimum cost and if you want to take a guide its about Nrs. 1000.00 minimum. Langtang region permit is Nrs. 1000.00 and TIMS for US$ 10 for group and US$ 20 for individual (FIT). No TIMS or permit required for Helambu region. Room is about Nrs. 200.00

Hello aventure_consultant

I trekked Langtang, Gosainkund and Helambu last year and the trekking agent included Helambu on the TIMS card and this was checked and recorded at Sermathang.

Do you have any further information about a TIMS card not being required? A link perhaps?

Thanks

Hi adventure_consultant

It would be helpful if you can clarify this because, if you are correct, the majority of people are paying for the TIMS card when it is not nnecessary and most trekking agents are informing people it is a requirement.

If you are not correct your post is misleading - do you have any more information?
