multi day hiking/trekking in china

Visiting china for the first time in mid to late September. Originally thought to do the typical cities but am not sure now. Love to hike/camp and love the thought of staying in remote guesthouses, etc. I can do about 18 days. Any suggestions for itineraries? Perhaps a mix of both city and countryside? Any help would be appreciated.

hey! I was interested in trekking/hiking in China around the same time... I've heard yunnan is nice. interested in a traveling companion?

Oct 1-7th is the national holiday in China, There will be many many ppl trip everywhere...especially the famous place
