Can anyone give a rough estimate how much can I expect to pay for the the trek to K2 base camp, the usual 16 to 20 days. And, is it possible to show up in Gilgil, take care of all the formalities there and be trekking within few days. How long do the agencies need to organise the trek.?

I'm leaving 1 July with this lot - adventur@isb.comsats.net.pk - they have a web site search adeventure travel. The cost is going to be Euro 799 - 999 depending on the size of the group - I had 10 % bokking discount but that has passed now. The trek is 22 days, 1 night accomodation in Islamabad, airport pick up if you need it and one night somewhere on the way included. That makes it a little cheaper than #1 but I think it is slightly more if you are experience enough to go over the pass rather than in and out. They also do a super economy version - I think 499 Euros but you have to carry most your own gear - 32 kilos. That was too much for my old bones. My itinerary includes a debriefing session in Islamabad.
Let me know if you're thinking abou this trip in Late June/July - I would also like to do a side trek independently to Fairy Meadows but would prefer a trekking buddy to do it with.
