Gunung Tahan in early November: 7 days for between $300 and 500

Interest forums / Trekking & Mountaineering

Planning to climb Gunung Tahan in early November (starting date Nov 2nd or 3rd). If I don't find anybody to join me, will do it alone.

This is an awesome trail because: 1) the jungle is trully unspoiled (they check everything you take with you and heavily fine you for any missing plastic bag), 2) real chance of meeting indiginous people, 3) very much not on Banana Pancake Trail.

The cost is expected to be between $300 and $500 per person for a 7 day trek (depending whether we will take a porter and rental rates for the cooking equipment) and even less is more then one person joins me.

I speak English, Russian, Portuguese and some French. If you: 1) can speak any of these and 2) can jog for 20 minutes, write me. If you do not have trekking experience, some evidence of a certain degree of tolerance to physical discomfort on your part is desirable.

I have some trekking experience in mountains (did two serious treks last year, on to Kilimanjaro and another on Kamchatka) but would not rate myself an experienced trekker.
