Hi,

Does anyone have recommendations for organisations who offer let's say one week climbing courses for beginners on snow and ice on high altitude? I would like to do something like this in March/April after doing a trekking for acclimatisation, but the companies I asked until now in Kathmandu are not able to provide any other information then just a price. Not really my idea of a good course or a good preparation...

Yes, I can recommend Pemba Doma. She has climbed everest twice, so she knows what she is doing. She has a lodge in Namche (great food and beds) and runs expeditions and a climbing school. Check out her website, www.climbhighhimalay.com. There is a one week climbing course which her company runs, the details on the website. good luck.
