I soon off for some long treks in Scotland, and found out that in petrol stations in the UK they don't sell petrol for stoves. They are just willing to sell me petrol for a special jerrycan that is 5 liters big, costs 5 pounds and of course I don't need and can't carry with me.
Any advice?

Yes use a gas stove. Most people in Europe use gas cartridges.

Check the camping stores it they have "Coleman fuel" or similar in one liter bottles. That is basically clean lead-free petrol/gasoline. At last in these parts of the world hard wear stores sell also clean petrol in 5 liter cans meant for power saws, lawn movers etc, which is cleaner burning than automotive fuel; less hazardous to breath the fumes. That means a 5 liter can, though. Gas stations might have cleaning petrol in one liter bottles which also works fine with stoves.
