Hi

This year I would like to do ABC, but my problem is I can only do either last week of May + first week of June, OR 2 weeks mid September.

Could anyone recommend which month would be better and why? Visibility is a plus for great pictures!

many thanks

Dear mendizmendi !

Good to hear from you that you are planing to trek in Nepal. Normally from March till May Middle is the good season in Nepal to trek around HImalayas. Peoples do this trek through out the Year. from Jun raining season start in Nepal so that you normally get rain at evening time. It is better start your trek from morning and reach at your Lodge early to safe from rain.

Still Jun first week is not much rain like July and Aug. You can still see better view in morning time and Trekking in the first week of Jun is totally possible in Nepal.

Thanks

Second week of September is much better than the last week of May-June.

Hi

Typically, September is wetter in and around Pokhara and gets less sunshine. In the last couple of years (at least) the monsoon has finished later and September has received more rain (and more constant rain in KTM in 2010 at least).

Sticking my neck out, I'd suggest early monsoon remains more predictable with the rain patterns as described by destinantionnp.

Having said this, whatever rain falls, the ABC trek gets the ful force of it while much of the Annapurna Circuit is in the rain shadow area and is relatively dry.

@OP, do a lot of research before committing your decision.

...which means EP disagrees with my views - which is OK of course - here is something to add to your research:

Pokhara weather information

It shows May as relatively dry and September as marginally wetter than June. The distribution of precipitation within the month is not shown but assume the normal pattern in June is increasing rain as the month progresses.
