On a recent trip I became addicted to the "Water Color" feature on my new pocket Sony Camera...

There are other features on new cameras...like B&W plus one color that you choose... Also a kind of fake instant HDR... or Vivid Color and other "filters" you can shoot though...to get away from the ordinary photograph...

I found that I was hardly shooting anything "straight"... And had to adjust consciously my shooting to get back to "normal" photography...

Examples of this ....below...

There…

I think I have missed something about Wikitravel and Wikivoyage. What is the main differences between them?
Many articles, at least for the places I have looked up, are exactly the same down to the last word. Why should one use the one over the other?

Hey there

I am going travelling for a year around central and south america and would like to keep a mobile phone so I can send the occassional text/use for emergencies and skype people using other people's wireless connections.

Does anyone have any suggestions about SIM cards I should get?

One friend suggested GiffGaff whereas others have just told me to buy one in every country I hit.

I'm hoping just to use the smartphone I currently own as it's unlocked.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello,

I am going to go on a vacation to the Fiji Islands and have recently been contemplating which new camera should I buy.
When it comes to photography, my technical knowledge is quite restricted , though pictures taken before proved to be beautifully oriented.
Since I like to hike amidst nature reserves and focus on remote objects such as flowers, birds, animals, as well as natural landcapes and seascapes , what camera would you suggest me to buy ?
I would like to be advised on the…

I am soliciting views as to what camera to upgrade to, if any.

I currently have an Olympus Micro 4/3 E-PL1, which is 3 years old. I have the standard 17-45 kit lens as well as a Panasonic Micro 4/3 20mm/F1.7 and an Olympus 40-150mm zoon lens. The camera works fine. I use the kit lens most, as well as the Panasonic lens, which is very fast and has very narrow depth of field for great indoor shots. I don;t use the zoom a lot- i also find its images aren't very sharp.

Of course, the system has…

I use a project planning data base that puts an asterisk against certain dates under certain conditions. When the data is copied into xcel it retains the asterisk and I need to delete it.
For example a date field is shown like this 10-May-13*
Is there a way of doing a global change to remove the * symbol as xcel sees it as a wild card and I have to delete each one manually.

Cheers everyone,

I'm an industrial design student and our current mission is to develop new Walkie Talkies. With everyone having a mobile phone these days, it is difficult to find a real need for Walkie Talkies. But there are plenty of remote areas that don't have coverage, and maybe there are even a few situations you have been in were a Walkie Talkie might have been helpful. Please share your experience or answer the question below:

  1. Do you use Walkie Talkies, if so why? Why not?
