Im thinking of getting an external hard drive for my laptop but have a things i need to work out first.
I have only looked at a couple of different ones so far, is 7200rpm at the higher or lower end for speed for these drives?
Which is better firewire or USB 2.0?

Yup, my iPod hit the floor and now it only alternates between the Apple logo and a picture of a file with an exclamation point over it. There is sometimes a dark line across the top of the screen.

Hello, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Recently I had my pictures taken from my camera and put onto a C.D. in a special camera shop which appeared to work fine. However, later on when I scrolled through the pictures on the camera, several of the photos (which worked well earlier 'could not be read'. After about 2 weeks (im not sure if this was completely related) the memory card could not be read at all. I dowant to protect my photos by putting them on C.D. Its just…

I would like to put more of my photos on flickr and of course, my website. What is would you recommend as the best overall image size in pixels? At the moment I tend to go with W=500 and H = 300 and something (whatever number comes up due to the aspect ratio) - for a landscape format image.

What do you use?

When I open some internet pages they don't fit on my home computer screen (14 inch). For example this site - at home I can't see the Sunday lineup & I can't scroll to it either.

I don't know if the screen is too small or if it's set up wrong. However considering how many laptops that don't have a much bigger screen - I think it must be the set up.

So how do I fix it so I can see the whole screen?

I don't want to get stuck with another dud - it would be nice to have a computer that I didn't realise a few months down the line isn't what I wanted.

I have been told I must have dual-core something because it's quicker...what about the rest?

I know I have no right to complain, but I WON a free Macbook off of my local radio station and I hate it. I cannot do anything with it. I have a Canon 5D and will be doing the K2 base camp trek in August. Temperatures at tomes will be below zero, possibly down to -10º/-15º.

Has anyone had experience with such a camera (professional SLR) in very cold conditions? Even if i take it, and the battery freezers, when i come back down the mountain will the battery come back to life in the warmer temperature? or is the battery dead?

If anybody could advise on tips on such photography it would be greatly appreciated
