Hey I am in Tanzania and desperately trying to figure out a way to make a collect call from here.
It is to a credit card company and will be a long, complicated phone call, so skype isn't really going to do it for me.
I have a cell phone, so finding some kind of call back service would be great. (i.e. i give them the number via internet or by calling them, then they call me back and do the collect call connection for me.)
Any information would be great....thanks.
I own one of these cameras as of yesterday. It uses a rechargeable D-LI63 battery, which (I'm assuming - perhaps wrongly) is the battery sold with it everywhere. I have the U.S. charger (D-BC63) that came with it, but I'm headed to France and hate messing with adaptors. Would I be correct in guessing that I can walk into any old camera shop in France when I arrive and purchase the french version of the same charger?
Treat me gently, it may be a silly question but I don't ordinarily post here…
I have a Panasonic flat screen TV and most of the programmes I see, I see via satellite. My question, if anyone knows, is why is the picture cut off at the edges? At times I can't see the whole of the titles. I have the format set at 16.9 and have tried 4.3 but I still can't see the edges.
Curiously, a friend downloaded a film for me from the Internet and it comes out correctly in it's correct format, wide screen with a black band at the top and bottom of the screen. When I recorded the same…
Hello!
I was on the look out for a compact 28mm digital camera. There is the canon 850is which looks to be a great lil camera bu lacks some the manual controls. Or there is the slightly bigger Panasonic LX2 which seems to be lacking in the image quality department.
Anyone have any opions on the above cameras or other options?
Camera will be used as a travel camera with lots of landscape.
Thanks in advance! :)
Hello there. As we speak I'm part of the small % of people that does not have a MP3-player just yet. I do however have a discman that plays mp3's from cd-roms.
As I'm planning a 6 months trip through S-America, I was wondering if I should buy some-Ipod like device?
PRO:
It would save me a lot of weight & is handy to carry around
It would surely save me some space if I didn't have to carry a bulky cd-folder with me.
I hear I could also store digital pictures on there, but can I do this without using a…
Hello, at the moment I am making do with a small and simple digital camera which has treated me very well so far. However after owning it for several years my photography skill has improved a little and i'm looking for something a little more intermediate for better quality pictures and greater control over the settings. Im not rolling in money so something about 100-200 British pounds, or $200-$400 would be fantastic. Thank you for your advice!

Samsung will be shipping a 64 gig "solid state hard drive" later this year.
Think great big flash card that can be plugged into your PHD case. No altitude problems. No crashed disk problems.
I'd expect someone to release a USB 2.0 connectible device so that you didn't need to take your card out of the camera.
Why, if the internet is supposed to be 'international' can I not get my fave US radio stations (which are online) in Norway?
The one music I really miss since I can't get it abroad, is country music (not the classic country western type like Dolly Parton but the new modern current kind: Kenny Chesney, Emerson Drive, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn, Dierks Bentley etc).
If I get a shortwave radio, which I used to have when a teenager listening to world radio stations and news, will I be…
