My wife and I will be moving to Central America for a few years and we'd like to get a new camera. I'm no pro, but I like pictures of culture, wildlife, landscape, etc.

I know this is really a personal preference thing, but I'm looking for some opinions from experienced people. Do I get a bigger size digital cam similar to an SLR type, or do I get a slim digital that I can fit in my pocket (more discreet, easier to lug around)?

What I want in the actual camera is around 6 megapixels and 10x…

sorry if this is an obvious question, but I'm travelling to the US this week and am wondering if my ghd hair straighteners (UK plug) will work in the USA. I have an adaptor for the pins, but am wondering if the different voltage means that they won't heat up to their regular heat. Anyone know the answer?

(And before you wonder why I'm such a travel lightweight that I can't leave the straighteners at home, we've got a wedding to go to. I normally don't backpack with a hatbox either!)

Just when I was thinking that virus writers had given up... I'd noticed recently that my AVG anti-spyware hadn't been running properly and thinking back, I think my computer did shut itself down for no apparent reason while it was running. This evening my computer has shut itself down about 10 times, I've used system restore to take me back to the 16th of January (I'm hoping England might get some better results in the forthcoming matches against Israel and Andorra), but still it (I presume 'it'…

Lately I'm having trouble with Firefox. If I click on a different tab it can take anywhere from seconds to minutes to change pages.

And I'm (at times) experiencing a lag while typing (like right now).

I'm not having trouble with non-FF functions. No problems with word, spreadsheets, photoediting....

Ideas?

Hello folks,

Any idea how (and if) I can adjust the contrast on my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop? There is no mention of how to do it in the Help section or User Manual.

Thanks.

OK – I will admit that I am no expert on cameras but is it possible? I assume that if so there must either be a GUI on the camera (or hard disk) in order to drag on drop or some other mechanism in order to do so.
Does anyone know a product to do this?

Shalom friends, I'm in need of some help. I'm putting together my first power point presentation to make a lecture I'm giving a little less boring. I have 30 slides and I'm not necessarily going to use them in the order that they are in. The trouble is I can not name them on the side panel without it appearing on my actual slide. Right clicking doesn't help- I thought it would let me name it by doing this. So what am I missing?

I managed to accidentally wipe a memory card with quite a few photos on it recently- I'm just wondering if I have ANY chance of recovering them?

(I know the answer is probably no, but... still hoping)

I found a site a few weeks ago that is really awesome click here. The shows downloaded pretty quickly but it seems that the hosts pull their shows and then when you go back to see the next episode/s there gone for good. Such was the case with all the Classic Doctor Who's; if you're a fan you can relate.

So now the question:

What can I do to save these clips when they're available so that they are files for off-line viewing?

I'd really appreciate the help. GG
